This new campaign is bigger and better. Between July 19-31, simply donate pet food or supplies to your local animal shelter or local food bank. Details and an inspirational video below.
How to Take Part!
Find a shelter or pet food bank near you (make sure they take food donations). People in the US and Canada can search for a local shelter and pet food bank.
Print out the BTC4Pets flier then go buy some pet food. (The fliers say neat things like “I am the change!”)
Drop off the bag of food and have someone take a picture of you with the bag and flier.
Write about it!A blog post, tweet (with #BTC4Pets) and share on Facebook your pawsome achievement to inspire your friends to do the same.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the needs in our various communities and to think that helping one pet or donating one bag of pet food doesn’t make a difference.
BUT, as this new Be the Change for Pets video (by the amazing Dr. V from PawCurious) shows, nothing could be further from the truth. Every little thing we can do to improve the lives of pets matters. Seriously.
A professional writer based in Colorado, Roxanne Hawn doesn't just love dogs. She deep-down requires them in life. Something inside her genes, perhaps? That's why it's such a joy to write about all things canine. Roxanne began writing about pets in 1995, when she worked for the American Animal Hospital Association and later for the American Humane Association. During this period in her career, Roxanne served on the board of directors for the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy (a coalition of animal welfare groups). Roxanne also volunteered for many years at an animal shelter, where she witnessed firsthand what happens when the human-animal bond breaks or never forms.
