TEXAS IN URGENT NEED OF PET FOOD FOR ANIMALS DISPLACED BY HURRICANE IKE

K9CUISINE LAUNCHES A FUNDRASING DRIVE TO GET CUSTOMERS AND CONCERNED CITIZENS TO DONATE BAGS OF FOOD TO OUR FURRY FRIENDS IN NEED

Houston, Texas - Sept.23, 2008 -

Houston’s American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is in urgent need of dog and cat food to help feed pets displaced by Hurricane Ike. The Houston SPCA is also coordinating rescue efforts for Galveston and the areas devastated by the hurricane.

K9Cuisine, an Internet company based in Paris, Illinois, Saturday launched the fundraising campaign “Send a Bag” to assist in the emergency delivery of supplies to Texas. K9Cuisine will deliver pallets of the company’s healthy dog and cat food directly to the Houston SPCA shelters on Tuesday, Sept. 23. K9Cuisine President Anthony Holloway sent out an email blast to thousands of his customers asking them to support this important cause. Now, Holloway is asking fellow animal lovers for support. The need at the Houston SPCA is so urgent that Holloway has rented a truck and is driving the pet food to Texas himself.

“Please join us in this worthy cause,” said Holloway. “Help in our efforts to keep thousands of pets healthy until they can be reunited with their families and returned to their homes.”

K9Cuisine has tried to make donating quick and easy! Just click on the link below by September 27th and select which bag you’d like to send. Then follow the instructions through checkout. Donation transactions will be charged separately from K9Cuisine order transactions. We will email your donation receipt and notify you with updates to let you know when your donation is delivered to the Houston SPCA.
K9Cuisine will also match each “Send a Bag” donation.

Teams from the Houston SPCA have already loaded tens of thousands of pounds of supplies and headed to Galveston. They desperately need more food for the animals in need. The SPCA has responded to over 100 calls of animals facing certain death. Hundreds of more calls are coming in to the Disaster Hotline and the Houston SPCA needs your help.

We hope you will join us in this wonderful opportunity to care of our furry friends in need!

Urine Off:

Urine Off Dog Formula is the #1 Veterinarian recommended product for dog urine odor and stain removal. In the past, dog urine odor and stains were nearly impossible to eliminate. Now with Urine Off Dog Formula you can permanently eliminate your dog’s urine odor and stains from virtually any surface.
When it comes to removing dog urine odor and stains from carpet and rugs, Urine Off is head and shoulders above the rest. It is the only dog urine odor and stain remover that carries the “Seal of Approval” from the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI), the U.S. Carpet Authority.
You may be thinking that’s great, but does it really work? Well, if by work you mean is it trusted by professionals in the pet industry, than yes, it works. Urine Off is the official show-ring treatment for Crufts, the world’s largest dog show. Professional dog trainers use Urine Off Dog Formula to remove the residual set-in urine odors that can contribute to undesirable territory-marking behavior.”

Wagatha’s - Breakfast Biscuits

“Nothing says Sunday morning like your mom or dad slaving over the kitchen stove as the comforting aroma of blueberry pancakes, muffins, crisp honey bacon, maple syrup, and coffee fill the air. Those down home flavors that stick-to-the-ribs. Let the intoxicating scent of something freshly baking in the oven fill your dogs snout. Wagatha’s Breakfast Biscuits are made of maple oatmeal with bananas & apples, makes me hungry just thinking about it. This treat is made with easily digestible grains, for even the most sensitive tummy. Your dog will retreat to his special sun-drenched corner of the kitchen and gobble up these treats. Yum ! Now every morning can be just as heavenly.”

K9 Cuisine has really beat the odds by its success and growth.  It’s not easy being a small online retail business, but I am proud to say K9 Cuisine has not only survived but thrived!  Ultimately though, it’s not that much of a surprise when you consider the incredible passion that Anthony runs his company with.  I mean that.

Success Story:

” Being small is hard enough. But being small and in retail? That’s like having two strikes against you before the game even begins. From setting up relationships with banks, to finding trustworthy suppliers, to building a loyal customer base, being a small retailer is a challenge many businesses can’t meet. And if you’re an online-only small retailer? Well, that adds a whole new set of pros and cons into the mix.

K9cuisine.com is one such business that’s so far been able to meet all the challenges of being a small, internet-only retailer. The nine-employee company sells premium pet foods and accessories from a warehouse in the remote town of Paris, Illinois — about 100 miles west of Indianapolis and 200 miles south of Chicago. Owner Anthony Holloway launched the company in May, 2007, because he was frustrated with trying to find quality dog food locally and online. After opening K9cuisine.com, he learned there were a lot of other pet owners sharing his frustrations. “Our business took off quickly and has grown at the rate of 50% each month for the last year,” Anthony says. The web site, he says, currently gets close to 5,000 unique visitors per day, and has generated about $2.5 million in sales in the last 12 months…..”

Wish List

July 15th, 2008

I began to fantasize today about winning that 100 dollar gift certificate from K9 cuisine, spoiling Stranger with new treats and toys and novelties. I’m not eligible, but I went ahead and made a wish list anyways. A girl can dream, right?

So, here it goes…

One tub of Happytails Canine Spa’s bowWoW Butter Balm, perfect for itchy skin or sore paws. Full of botanical goodness (am i sounding like a k9 cuisine groupie yet?), its soothing on irritation and safe to ingest, though I don’t recommends you try.

One bag of Zuke’s Hip Action Treats.  Packed with glucosamine, they help canine hip and joint problems.  Not for Stranger, but they’d make great gifts for the old lady dogs in my life.

One bag of Free Range Dog Chews, Baa Lamb Trail Mix.

Stranger loves this mix of Lamb Jerky, Lung, Tripe, and Liver.  It’s high in protein and gives him energy during a long run.  The taste of lamb is also a rare and delicious treat.

One Planet Dog Treat Spot Snowball.

Resilient, bouncy, minty!  It’s 3 inches and made of Orbee-Tuff, perfect for tenacious teeth.  You can put some peanut butter or dog treats in the treat spot and watch your pup figure it out.  Joy.

And last, but not least, I would get the FURminator.

The hotter nights get, the worse I feel about dog hair in my bed.  What a relief it would be to keep the place clean, keep the dog hair out of food, furniture, kisses!

I think I went over budget, but at least shipping is free!  As always, please check out our conscientious and creative sponsor, K9 Cuisine.

They are also offering free samples in case you’re curious but feeling non-committal.  I guarantee your dog will love it.
